Contemporary dance technique includes elemtents of modern and the classical ballet technique & for the more mature student. It is characterised by its versatility and allows a greater range and fluidity of movement than conventional dance techniques. The technique seeks to work with the natural alignment of the body (often more parralel), and is therefore safe and accessible for beginners. At the same time, the ease of movement promoted by contemporary dance technique allows experienced dancers to push new boundaries of body movement.

Junior class is suited for those aged 10+ who are current DW dancers or those NEW to dance. It will be a mixed age class & a good introduction to Contemporary technique. Dancers need a greater understanding of their core muscles (hence later starting age).

Senior class is suited to Advanced dancers.  A higher level of fitness and strength is required for this senior class.    Dancers need to have completed the Junior introductory class firstly, as builds upon movements previously learned.
